The Healing Power of Self-Love: How to Let Go of Limiting Beliefs and Embrace Love

As human beings, we innately possess the ability for endless love. Love for each other, love for the world, and love for ourselves. It is one of the most beautiful things about us, and when we radiate that love, we become unstoppable forces of light and joy. But sometimes, things get in the way. We get false ideas about ourselves and find ourselves stuck with limiting beliefs. Maybe we don’t actively think things like; I am unworthy of love. However, these ideas can become the subconscious beliefs we operate under. They bubble to the surface in small ways, like pushing away someone you love or turning down an opportunity for connection. It could be as simple as ignoring a kind text from a friend or shying away from a hug.

Here is the thing, though: these limiting beliefs do not define you. You’re only human, and the path to self-love and true acceptance is one you can step onto any time you choose. Every person deserves to and should love themselves fully, unconditionally, and ardently. It starts with recognizing the way your limiting beliefs bubble to the surface. What are the negative habits you’ve stuck to? What are you turning down or away from that would be amazing if you just said yes? Recognize the small ways you’re holding yourself back. From there, you can begin to recognize patterns and change them. And by focusing on you, you’re giving yourself the care and love you deserve and should have had all along.

Can you change these patterns? Can you break them and embrace self-love? Yes, and yes! Make a conscious effort to notice and break those small self-sabotaging habits. Recognize and celebrate the positivity and good feelings you have when choosing love instead. Discover your limiting beliefs and break them down using affirmations. Tell yourself you are not only worthy of love, but you are love itself. Embody the genuinely loving person you are and see that those negative beliefs only stopped your genuine, fabulous self from shining through.

Here are just a few small things you can start doing to change your limiting beliefs.

  1. Create affirmations of self-love and say them to yourself daily
  2. When given a fantastic opportunity, just say yes
  3. List three things that you love about yourself every day
  4. Make time for the things that make you feel good about yourself
  5. Show your love to others as often as you can

Love heals. When you learn to embrace it from yourself and others, it has the power to create abundance, happiness, and genuine connection in your life. If self-love is at the basis of who you are, you become unstoppable. You are capable of making the profound choice to change your limiting beliefs and celebrate the wonderful person you are. Step into the loving, incredible, full-hearted being you have always been. It starts with the choice to embrace self-love. From there, recognizing and rewiring your limiting beliefs can be hard work, but the reward, in the end, is worth it.

Unlimited love. Joyous love. Soul-altering love. It all exists within you, and it’s all yours.
