The Power of a Men’s Book

Ignite Your Life for Men was created out of an important need to support men in becoming the powerfully-enlightened, courageously-awakened, conscious role models they were born to be. When my amazing husband Peter came to me and suggested we write a book specifically for men, inspiring other men, I was excited about the idea. I couldn’t think of a book on the market that was designed to honor men overcoming the trials and tribulations they go through. Nor had I heard of a book filled with authentic and heartfelt accounts of monumental moments in a man’s life, where he was allowed to show an even deeper expression of himself.

While enjoying the bliss of publishing Ignite Your Life for Women and Ignite Your Female Leadership, my husband often commented on how lucky I was to have a group of amazing women I could connect with. He voiced his slight jealousy over me being able to share, so joyously, with other ladies in an open and welcoming group space. He saw the close bonds we were creating by getting together weekly to talk about personal issues, parenting problems, financial goals, and even silly situations. Our calls were filled with a plethora of tears and laughter, sentiment and support.

As my husband witnessed, I was always enthusiastic and elevated after I finished a call. I continued many relationships outside the scheduled meetings and soon many of the authors were becoming good friends and daily contacts. Our women’s network had flourished and I had more [and more] women to turn to for a multitude of things.

This bonding by women, in groups, gatherings, and circles is a tradition that spans back to the dawn of time. As Eric shares how the men of the Hadza tribe gathered to tell stores, women convened throughout the entire day and connected with one another. Women are naturally drawn to this form of communicating and it is both accepted and welcomed by them. Men, it seems, aren’t this fortunate. The way of the warrior, the lone wolf, and the single-handed superhero is a common theme amongst men around the world today. Men have been taught to do it on their own, to not need anyone, and to forge forward alone.
